Castillo de San Marcos
The Castillo was built "to protect and defend Spain’s claims in the New World. Though caught in the whirlwinds of colonial warfare and intrigue, it was never defeated in battle. Its scarred walls still stand witness to over 330 years of history and culture." The Castillo de San Marcos is open to the public from 8:45am to 5:15pm every day of the year except December 25. (The ticket booth closes at 4:45pm.) Entrance fee (valid for six days) is $6 for adults and children ages 16 and over. Children 15 and under are admitted free of charge but must be accompanied by an adult.

Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum
“Experience the sights, sounds and smells of a town in historic Spanish Florida” in this living history museum where costumed interpreters go about daily life in 1740. Museum hours are Monday - Sunday, 9am-5:30pm. The last ticket is sold at 4:45pm. “Climb the 219 steps to the top of the tower and learn about St. Augustine's maritime past”. Children must be 44” to climb. Plan on spending at least one hour to tour the site and climb the tower. The last ticket to climb the tower is sold at 5:45pm. Admission is $8 for adults; $7 for seniors; $6 for children ages 6-11; and free for children under 6 years of age, active and retired military, and their families. For those who are not interested in climbing, admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for children ages 6-11.
